Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep are set to leave the India A team and will be replaced by Pratam Singh, Akshay Wadkar, Shaik Rasheed, Shams Mulani and Pulkit Narang. Fast bowler Vidhwath Kaverappa is likely to move from India A to India D for Round 2.
India B is likely to lose Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Yash Dayal and their places will be taken by Suyash Prabhudesai, Himanshu Mantri and Rinku, who were left out of the squad for the first round, which is a bit surprising. Sarfaraz, who was included in the India squad for the first Test against Bangladesh, will remain with India B for the second round of Duleep Trophy matches, which are scheduled to end on September 15, three days before the Chennai Test begins.
India C are unaffected by the changes, while India D are likely to lose injured Axar Patel and Tushar Deshpande. Kaveerappa and Nishant Sindhu are expected to join the team.
The Indian team will gather in Chennai on September 12 for a preparatory camp ahead of the first Test match against Bangladesh starting on September 19.
