The Golf Channel reported Monday that Sweden’s Ludvig Aberri will undergo arthroscopic surgery this week to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.
Aberg, ranked fifth in the Official World Golf Rankings, finished 16th at the Tour Championship in Atlanta on Sunday. He withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship in May with knee soreness and entered the PGA Championship the following week wearing a brace.
According to reports, the 24-year-old is expected to be able to play golf again in about three to four weeks after the surgery, and will likely play a limited schedule this fall.
He is the defending champion of the RSM Classic, which is held on St. Simons Island, Georgia, from November 21-24.
Everg has eight top-10 finishes in 19 PGA Tour events in 2024, including a runner-up finish at the Masters, his first major appearance.
Aberg missed the cut at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship and finished T12 at the U.S. Open. He finished second at the BMW Championship last month.
