Tencent appears to be struggling as parent company Splash Damage announced the cancellation of Transformers: Reactivate and layoffs.
The company has made announcements about X again, starting with calls to cancel Transformers: Reactivate. If you don’t know about this game, don’t be surprised. The game was announced a few years ago as an online-focused action game for 1-4 players, but not much has been said about it since.
Around the same time, Splash Damage acquired Bulkhead Games.
“Today we have some very difficult news to share: the decision has been made to end development on Transformers: Reactivate.” reads the statement.
As a result of the project’s cancellation, the studio confirmed that it “will be scaling back to refocus on other projects” and that “several roles across the studio are potentially at risk of becoming redundant.”

“It’s painful not to be able to watch a game release, but having to say goodbye to friends and colleagues is even more painful. “We are just as focused on doing everything we can to support them through this difficult time, just as we are committed to caring for those who will remain with us as we build a stronger Splash Damage for the future.”
It’s unclear what exactly caused the project’s cancellation or how many jobs are now at risk.
