NEW DELHI: Ravichandran Ashwin said on Thursday that he has opted for an aggressive batting approach on the red soil pitch. First test Against ~ Bangladesh In Chennai.

“It helped me coming back from the T20 tournament (TNPL). I worked on my batting quite a bit,” he said.
He expressed his joy at playing at his home ground, saying, “It is always a special feeling to play in front of the home crowd. This is the ground where I absolutely love playing cricket. It has given me many great memories.”
Ashwin also thanked Jadeja for her support during this crucial time.
“He (Jadeja) was really helpful. There were moments when I was sweating and getting a little tired. Jadu was quick to notice that and guide me through that process,” Ashwin said, acknowledging Jadeja’s valuable advice.
“Plum has been one of our best hitters over the last few years. His presence has been solid, and his advice on not having to turn a two-run home run into a three-run home run has been really helpful to me.”
The duo combined for 195 runs for the seventh wicket, taking India from a precarious 144/6 at the end of Day 1 to a formidable 339/6.
“It’s typical old-fashioned,” said Ashwin, looking forward to the next day. Chennai Peach Overspin will bring some bounce.”
“The wicket will start to play tricks much later in the game. There’s plenty of quick movement. Good carry, good bounce if you spread the seam well.”
