The Los Angeles Rams have plenty of time left until the regular season opener. 34 days from Monday, to be exact.
Still, it’s concerning to hear about a star receiver’s knee injury “week after week.”
Record-setting receiver Puca Nacua has been struggling with a knee injury week in and week out, but sources tell ESPN’s Adam Schefter the injury is “not serious.” It’s a bit of a contrast.
While the injury may not be serious enough to keep Nacua out of regular season play, the use of the term “week-to-week” is a bit concerning, especially when a player as important as Nacua is injured.
Nacua set a rookie record last season with 105 catches for 1,486 yards. For those of you who follow Yahoo fantasy football, he’s a first-round pick in most leagues. He was a fifth-round pick, but he immediately transformed the Rams’ offense and led the team to the playoffs.
The good news is that the Rams can be patient. There are still five weeks until the season opener. Fortunately, Nacua’s injury is reversible and won’t be long-term once he returns to the field. The Rams don’t seem to be worried, but it’s something to keep an eye on until August.
