Ubisoft finally adds Rainbow Six Siege crossplay between PC and consoles.
Cross-play support across all platforms is scheduled to launch in December with Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 9 Season 4 update, Operation Collision Point.
Players can matchmake with friends no matter what platform they play on, but if you have PC players on your squad, your team will always be in the PC matchmaking pool.
Rainbow Six Siege’s crossplay and cross-progression were originally enabled for the PC, Amazon Luna, and Stadia versions of the game in June 2021.
Cross-play was then enabled between Xbox and PlayStation consoles in late 2022, at which time cross progression was also enabled across all platforms.
“Player protection this season includes adjusting mousetrap penalties to account for crossplay, automatic match cancellation when cheaters are detected, reputation center overhauls, AI text adjustments, and more,” Ubisoft said.
Operation Collision Point introduces a special new ballistic shield variant for Blackbeard, balance updates for Ying and Sens, and more.
Ubisoft said last month that Rainbow Six Siege had generated more than €3.5 billion in revenue since its launch in 2015.
By comparison, the Assassin’s Creed franchise as a whole has generated approximately €4 billion in revenue since its launch in 2007.
