Tashkent, Uzbekistan, July 10. According to Trend reports, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved an agreement on the construction of a railway between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China.
According to the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan, the country’s Ministry of Transport has been appointed as the official body responsible for implementing international agreements.
The Head of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the relevant ministries and departments are obliged to supervise the implementation of the provisions of the international agreement after it enters into force in the manner prescribed.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China signed a cooperation agreement on joint promotion of railway projects on June 6.
The agreement accelerates the completion of the project. It provides for cooperation between the three countries in financing, constructing, operating and maintaining the railway.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov previously said construction on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway line would begin in October this year.
The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Project is a strategic infrastructure project linking China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, creating a new land transport corridor linking Central Asia and East Asia.
