We have all kinds of specialized action cameras and drones to capture the footage we need, but how many times have you seen a single device meet all your needs? PITTA aims to be your selfie camera. You can hold it in your hand, mount it, and of course… It can fly too.
Other major crowdfunding projects:
modular design
The PITTA is pleasing to the eye, but the older 6.7-inch, 200-gram body isn’t all this device has to offer. This unit is a hybrid of sorts. The modular design allows it to adapt to a variety of use cases. The removable part of the sphere is held in place by magnets and can be replaced with a drone or action camera module.
strength
When it’s time to charge, simply place it on the charging cradle. If you stick to action camera modules, this won’t happen often. PITTA can record for over 100 minutes on a single charge. However, if you attach a drone module to it, the battery life will be shortened to about 15 minutes of flight time.
So what can it do?
This is first and foremost a camera, right? Having all the features and doing a backflip (which it doesn’t) won’t do you any good if the footage is subpar. Thankfully, the product manufacturer promises a good experience. The 13MP sensor can output 4K video at 30fps. It also includes software image stabilization and every feature you can think of. sincerely… This thing can do it all.
Some features include burst shots, time-lapse, slow motion, live streaming, and panoramas. And you can do so much more if you let PITTA spread its wings. This app not only allows you to easily control your mini drone, but also allows you to let the drone control itself for free. Autonomous mode allows you to track and follow you. Or I could make it orbit around me, creating amazing scenes that years ago were only seen in movies.
Terrain awareness means you don’t have to worry about PITTA hitting trees or other obstacles. Don’t worry about losing it. GPS is built right into the product and can get you right back home on its own.
Not interested in all this adventure? It’s definitely fun to have at home and use as a security camera to check on your belongings and loved ones when you’re out and about.
Who signs up?
Interested? It looks very promising, at least on paper. As always, check out the Kickstarter campaign for more details. The link button is right below.
PITTA is hoping to hit their $50,000 goal right away and have a great product. Considering how expensive action cameras and drones are, you can do a lot worse than this for as low as $289.
