Paramount canceled it haloA live-action TV adaptation of Xbox’s flagship franchise, two seasons later. The show’s second season premiered on Paramount+ earlier this year.
According to The Hollywood ReporterSource of, halo Showrunner Amblin, Xbox, and 343 Industries are reportedly looking at new outlets for a potential season 3, and Paramount is reportedly supporting them.
“Paramount+ can confirm that ‘Halo’ will not be returning to the service for a third season,” Paramount said in a statement. “We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and want to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, showrunner and executive producer David Winner, his fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Master Chief Pablo Schreiber, and our incredible crew for their outstanding work. We wish them all the best for the future.”
After years of development, halo It premiered on Paramount+ on March 24, 2022, and stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief. Season 1 received mixed reviews from critics and fans, with many criticizing it for deviating from the game’s established lore and characterization. Season 2, which premiered earlier this year on February 8 and ended on March 21, has received a more positive response, with several critics and viewers hailing it as a dramatic improvement. Season 1 currently holds a 70% on Rotten Tomatoes and 61% on Metacritic. Season 2 holds a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and 64% on Metacritic.
