Pocketpair celebrated Palworld’s one-year anniversary by detailing its future roadmap for updates.
According to the developer, they will continue to update the Early Access version of the game with features such as cooperative cross-play, final boss and ending scenarios, world transfers for Pals, and more.
There’s no specific timeframe for the update, but Pocketpair says it’s currently working on the following:
- CO-OP Crossplay
- World Transport for Pals
- Final Boss/Ending Scenario
- Additional ways to strengthen and improve your Pals
- Various new content such as New Pal, technology, etc.
- Game collaboration (including Terraria)
- Improved world object placement
- Basic Pal improvements
- Optimization improvements
- UX improvements
As part of Palworld’s one-year anniversary celebration, the game developer is also running a Pal popularity poll. So far, 180 Pals have appeared, and Pocketpair is inviting fans to vote for their favorite.
The monster-slaying survival game, which launched through Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview in January 2024, was an instant hit, attracting 25 million players within its first month, according to Pocketpair.
The game was later released on PlayStation 5 in September. However, it faced legal challenges from Nintendo and Japan’s The Pokémon Company, who claimed Palworld “infringed on several patents.”
The issue stems from three patents related to gameplay, all of which were first filed by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company between February and July of last year.
