Baku, Azerbaijan, January 1. According to a trend report, Ambassador Kubanichbek Omurayev, Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), received the prestigious 2024 World Tourism Leader Award at the Global Tourism Forum Annual Meeting in Brussels in December 2024.
According to OTS, the World Tourism Leader Award recognizes individuals who have made remarkable and lasting contributions to the global tourism sector. Ambassador Omurayev’s extraordinary efforts in developing tourism cooperation between Turkic countries and promoting sustainable practices in the region have earned him international praise, making him a worthy recipient of this honor.
The awards ceremony celebrated Ambassador Omurayev along with the impressive legacies of past recipients, including Indonesian President Joko Widodo and former European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
