Olympic 2024 Archery LIVE Ranking Round: There was a positive start to India’s Olympic journey as the women’s archery team secured top four positions in the team event and qualified straight for the quarterfinals. Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur and Deepika Kumari were all in the top 32. Ankita finished 11th with 666 points while debutant Bhajan finished 22nd with 659 points. Deepika Kumari finished 23rd with 658 points. India’s Olympic 2024 campaign began with archery, with the individual ranking rounds beginning on the eve of the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Olympic Archery Live: Ankita Bhakat Narrowly Misses Top 10
What a great performance Ankita Barkat had in her debut Olympics! She finished as the 11th seed in the womenās individual main draw, scoring 666 points (her best score of the season). Fellow 18-year-old debutant Bhajan Kaur was the 22nd seed (659 points) and the experienced Deepika Kumari was the 23rd seed (658 points).

26-year-old archer Ankita Barkat is back in the top 10 seed in the women’s category. To make matters better, 18-year-old Bhajan Kaur has also entered the top 20. India has solidified its fourth position, tied with third-placed Mexico. India is 13 points ahead of fifth-placed France.

Two more rounds left. There are 12 more arrows left in the Paris 2024 Marathon Womenās Individual Ranking Round. This is Indiaās first competition and the country looks set to start on a positive note.

Olympic Archery Live: 60/72 Arrows: India Takes 4th Place!
India is four points ahead of France, with Bhajan Kaur moving up to 21st. Ankita Barkat is 12th and Deepika Kumari is currently 28th. With all three Indian players in the top 30, they look set to make it to the quarterfinals.

Olympic Archery Live: India in Battle with France
India and hosts France continue to swap places in the women’s team rankings. After shooting 54/72 arrows, both are tied on 1482 points, but France has more 10s and Xs, which gives them the all-important fourth place.
Ankita Bhatt finished at 11th place, the highest rank for an Indian. She also scored 500 points.

Olympic Archery Live: 48/72 Shots: India Back in Top 4!
With just a third of the women’s individual rankings remaining, India has returned to the top four, just one point ahead of hosts France and five ahead of Indonesia.
Ankita Bhatt remains the top Indian player at 11th with 445 points. Deepika Kumari has hit some good shots and is now at 24th.

Olympic Archery Live: India, 6th in Interim Rankings
India was eliminated from the top four seedings in the women’s team at the halfway point of the women’s individual ranking round (36/72 arrows). Ankita Bhakat was the highest-ranked Indian player throughout and is currently ranked 12th with 335 points.
18-year-old Bhajan Kaur is 23rd with 330 points and veteran Deepika Kumari is 37th with 327 points.

India has entered the top four seeds in the women’s team event. Ankita has secured a spot in the top 10 (8th, 225 points) and Bhajan Kaur has jumped to 31st (218 points). Deepika Kumari has also made it to the top 40.

The men’s and women’s team seeds are determined by the combined scores of the men’s and women’s archers, respectively. The top four seeded teams advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the teams seeded 5-12 advance directly to the round of 16.
For mixed teams, the best individual scores from the men’s and women’s individual rankings determine the seeding. Only the top 16 teams advance to the final event.
