A few things:
*Microsoft promised this as part of their Activision acquisition. Remember they made a big fuss about putting CoD in it?
*Also, we’ve been hearing this exact line for the past few generations. They said the exact same thing about the Wii U and Switch.
*And the big question is which generation is this AAA port? Let’s assume this generation, but keep in mind that this generation is at least halfway done. So even if you get a port of this generation’s AAA games, look for next-gen AAA games a few years down the road. Realistically, it’s going to be a few years before we see a major AAA port.
*Lastly, Nintendo fans simply don’t buy third-party ports. So even if there’s an initial surge, it’ll fade once everyone realizes that games don’t sell on the Switch 2. People buy Nintendo consoles for specific types of games, and we have literal generational data that shows that most third-party ports don’t sell well.
