Having qualified for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final, South Africa are ready to host Pakistan once again. The Shan Masood-led side put up a tough fight against the Proteas in the first Test. The Proteas went over the limit thanks to the match-winning partnership of Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen.
The second Test awaits in Cape Town, the city that has hosted the most Tests in South Africa (60). Pakistan will be wary of the fact that they have not beaten South Africa in four attempts here. In fact, this is the same land where the famous low-scoring incident between South Africa and India occurred in January 2024.
Ahead of the second South Africa vs Pakistan Test, here are some important figures to know from the previous Tests played at the stadium.

Newlands, Cape Town Fitch Report
Heaven for pacers! This was achieved in the last match when India had bundled out South Africa for just 55 runs in the first innings. The wicket here was quite bad, to be honest, and the batsmen had no chance to build their innings.
The pitch curators may have something in store for compensation, but the pacers still have to impose a huge “test” on their top-order batsmen. The exact pitch report will be broadcast live just before the live action for the second and final Test of the series.
Newlands, Cape Town, final test
The last time Newlands hosted a Test match, the ICC rated the stadium as ‘unsatisfactory’. The encounter ended after two days of cricket, with a total of 464 runs scored in four innings, or 116 runs per innings.
Mohanmmed Siraj’s 6/15 rattled SA posted 55/10. In reply, India were in the driving seat before losing six wickets for no runs! They collapsed from 153/4 to 153/10.
In response, Aiden Markram scored a huge score to get something on the board for South Africa. India easily chased down the total of 79 runs and Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten.
