Microsoft’s expensive acquisition of Activision Blizzard gave the company access to one of the biggest IPs in all of gaming, but it also gave the company a catalog of games to feed into Game Pass. Despite this, Microsoft has been slow to add Activision titles to the service. But according to a new report, we may soon be getting some classic games.
Leaker eXtas1s has a mixed track record when it comes to leaking information, but there is one very important exception: his Game Pass leaks have been nearly 100% accurate.
According to eXtas1s posting on the Exputer forums, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, a remaster of the first three Crash games originally developed by Naughty Dog, will be “coming to Game Pass sometime in August.”
This report is backed up by an article published by Windows Central, which states: “Windows Central’s sources can corroborate this information, meaning Xbox players will be able to embark on an adventure with the Bandicoot in search of Wumpa in just a matter of weeks.”
eXtas1s also mentioned that he is looking forward to the release of Tony Hawk 1+2 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Both are fantastic games, but unfortunately eXtas1s is unsure when they will be added to the service, saying, “It will be very soon, but I can’t guarantee that they will be on the service in the same month.”
As for Call of Duty, we know they’ll be coming to Game Pass at some point, but eXtas1s has no idea: “I don’t have any information at the moment on whether they’ll be coming out in August or if we’ll have to wait longer.”
However, the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass on day one.
Personally, I’m a bit surprised that Microsoft is hesitant to add Activision Blizzard’s catalog of games to Game Pass. I think it’s wise to roll them out slowly, but it’s frustrating that they haven’t added at least a few more by now. If eXtas1s is right, I hope the dam bursts soon.
