A new PS5 update has been released, and in addition to general stability and performance improvements, users can expect a new way to invite other players to their game sessions.
With the update 24.05-09.60.00, you can share a URL link to an open session with a player by opening the game session action card and using the “Share Link” option to generate a QR code. Then all the player has to do is scan the QR code with their mobile device and they will be able to join the session. If you’re feeling brave, you can theoretically post this URL on the internet to see if anyone is joining you in a quick multiplayer game in case you need a quick backup.
Players who have enrolled in the Voice Command Preview program will also be able to use the “View Game Help” command to open the game’s Help Action Cards, and Sony has also said it has updated the device software for some DualSense wireless controllers to improve stability.
Recent PS5 firmware updates have added several quality-of-life updates, including fixes for remote play, changeable system beeps, and other general adjustments. Meanwhile, PlayStation Portal owners can now use their gaming handheld in more places, thanks to a recent update that allows users to connect to public Wi-Fi networks.
