MS Dhoni bhai is my idol – Mohsin Khan
The reason many players idolize him and consider him a role model is because of his status as a player. One of them was young Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Mohsin Khan, who expressed his respect for former Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni.
Mohsin Khan, who calls MS Dhoni his idol, was in awe as the keeper-batsman finished the match with a six. The left-arm pacer recalled Dhoni’s iconic six-match win in the 2011 ODI World Cup final and said it remains his favorite moment in cricket. Talking to Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“Dhoni bhai is my idol. Woh jo chakke maarte hai end mein jaake (The way he hit that six at the end is unbelievable.) I was only 13 or 14 at that time and saw the final. The moment he hit that “No. 6 felt like Diwali everywhere.”
When asked why he did not express his exclamation in front of Dhoni, Mohsin Khan claimed that the keeper-batsman gets nervous when he sees the keeper-batsman and cannot talk to him. He added:
“I’m happy just watching it from afar. Main samne se baat nhi kar pata hu (I can’t say it directly) but watching him gives me joy.”
MS Dhoni is almost confirmed to feature in IPL 2025.
It is all but confirmed that if MS Dhoni plays in IPL 2025, he will remain an uncapped player. This comes after the BCCI reintroduced the unlimited player rule. He retired from international cricket in 2019, which allows him to be placed as an uncapped player under the latest IPL rules.
Dhoni was a part of Chennai Super Kings in all their matches last season. He entertained the crowd with his powerful hitting despite suffering from a knee injury. He scored 161 runs with a .220 strikeout rate, all of which came when he hit the plate.
