Mo Salah added to his impressive goal tally of 2024/25 with his side’s opener against Lille on Tuesday.
The former Roma wide man scored his third goal in the Champions League and 22nd in all competitions as the Merseysiders secured their seventh successive win in European competition.
The result leaves the hosts top of the league stage, but Arne Slot’s men will need to take at least a point from their upcoming trip to PSV to ensure they win their group following a stunning Barcelona comeback.
The 32-year-old footballer’s current term is set to expire in 2025 amid reports of growing Saudi interest in his services.
Mo Salah is coy about Liverpool’s future
After Bruno Genesio’s 2-1 win over Lille, it was inevitable that Salah would be asked about his future once again.
The striker, who has scored 39 goals in 31 games in all competitions, scoffed at suggestions he could remain at Anfield long enough to score a further 50 goals in Europe’s top competition.
“I don’t know about that, but I’ll do my best!” The Egyptian spoke with Amazon Prime.

A bit of a shy answer! But to be fair to Liverpool fans’ favorite Liverpool player, he has already made it clear that he wants to extend his stay at the club.
Likewise, it was made very clear to the fandom that there had been no progress in the contract renewal talks.
But considering Salah is about to enter his 40s and is set to record a goal and an assist in the current campaign, this comment feels increasingly infuriating.
We completely understand the need for recruitment teams to battle over the wage bill and consider how increasing the wage cap could potentially impact the minimum wage.
But we struggle to imagine a world in which it would be entirely justifiable to allow a right-sided striker to walk away with nothing in the summer.
