This is what Michal David, 64, experienced when he witnessed the devastating effects of a tsunami in the Indian Ocean 20 years ago. What should have been a paradise on earth turned into a fight for life.
Tsunami that changed the world
The Indian Ocean undersea earthquake has gone down in history as one of the most destructive disasters of modern times. The tsunami waves destroyed everything in their path and killed more than 200,000 people. Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand were the hardest hit, but high waves also hit the Maldives, where Michal David and other Czech musicians were on holiday.
