Before his incarceration, the man had a doomed affair with Rabbit’s daughter Anastasia (Ivana Miličević), with whom he stole and lived under false pretenses in the town of Banshee, Pennsylvania. Determined to find his love, the man’s luck picks up when the town’s new, unseen sheriff, Lucas Hood, is murdered in a barroom brawl.
