New Zealand I chose bowling west indies
James Neesham, Rachin Ravindra and Tim Southee replaced Mark Chapman, Michael Bracewell and Matt Henry.
Stead sees Ravindra primarily as a top-order batsman, but hinted that he could slot into the middle-order as well.
“I think that’s probably at the top of the list and he gives us a spin option as well,” Stead said in his pre-match press conference. “But part of the preparation with Lacchin was understanding that that might not be the position he would ultimately be in, so we also played him in the middle positions that he could play in. I think that helped him. It expands your role and broadens your understanding of batting and bowling in those situations.”
Meanwhile, West Indies named the same XI for the third match in a row to take six points out of six and secure a spot in the Super Eight.
