Sony has announced that the hugely successful Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released on PC in January 2025.
Insomniac Games senior community manager Aaron Jason Espinoza revealed in an official PlayStation blog post that Sony-owned porting house Nixxes will be handling the project.
“It’s been a great experience working with Insomniac and Marvel Games to bring Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to a new audience on PC,” said Julian Huijbregts, Community Manager at Nixxes. “We’re excited to continue this collaboration and bring Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to PC with a suite of enhancements, including enhanced ray tracing options to make the most of a variety of settings and configurations. Stay tuned for more details on features and recommended specifications as we get closer to launch.”
“Our incredible partners at the Nixxes have done an incredible job of once again bringing the world of Marvel’s Spider-Man to PC players,” said Mike Fitzgerald, Director of Core Technologies at Insomniac. “Our team put a lot of love into this game. We’re excited that a whole new audience will soon be able to enjoy this game with keyboard and mouse controls, ultra-widescreen support, and tons of graphics options that will make you feel right at home. platform.”
Unfortunately, the blog post doesn’t confirm what upgrades the PC version will receive. However, we can assume the usual suite of options such as widescreen support, higher frame rates, DLSS, etc.
The blog post also confirmed that no new story content is planned for Spider-Man 2.
“There are no plans for additional story content for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, however. We’re excited to bring all previously released post-launch content to the PC version, including New Game+, new suits and color variants, Photo Mode features, and more.”
Sony will be hoping for a win here, as its last two PC releases haven’t fared very well. Until Dawn’s remake launched on its first day on Steam, but it only attracted 2,607 players before Concord crashed and burned.
