Manchester United appear to be stepping up their efforts to sign Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioğlu.
Kadioglu has enjoyed a very promising 2023/24 season in Turkey, making 51 appearances in all competitions for Fenerbahce.
Many expected the versatile full-back, who primarily plays on the left flank, to have a successful season under newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho.
But the 24-year-old’s performances for Turkey at this summer’s Euros have caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, which could hasten his departure from the Istanbul outfit.
Making his senior debut for NEC Nijmegen as a number 10, Kadioglu impressed many with his ball control in tight spaces and his ability to play deep as an inverted full-back.
Brighton & Hove Albion appeared to be the most serious bidders for the striker, but now United are also ready to knock on Fenerbahce’s door, according to journalist Yagüz Sabuncuoğlu.
He claims the Premier League giants have met with his representatives to understand the left-back’s contract demands should he reach an agreement with the club over a summer move.

Fenerbahce’s asking price is said to be as high as €35 million, with the aim of raising money through the sale of star players.
The Turkish giants would prefer to renew his contract, which runs until June 2026, but the youngster is desperate for a move to the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag has had to rely on academy left-back Harry Amass during pre-season this summer with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out with fitness issues. The two veteran left-backs are still unavailable for the Community Shield against Manchester City.
The Peoples Person recently reported that United are being forced to look for reinforcements due to the worrying situation at left-back. There are also questions over the future of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka at Old Trafford.
Kadioglu could therefore be a very smart signing, with his impeccable technical quality and ability to play on both flanks.
