New York — Real estate agents Oren and Tal Alexander and their brother Alon were indicted on sex trafficking charges in New York.
FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York A press conference was held on Wednesday. Announce the charges. They say the brothers set up a sex trafficking scheme and assaulted dozens of women between 2010 and 2021, in some cases dating back to when the men were in high school.
“The defendants used their wealth and status to create and facilitate the opportunity to sexually assault women,” said Damian Williams, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. “Specifically, Oren and Tal Alexander used their prominent positions in the real estate industry to entice women to attend events and parties. At those parties, and sometimes afterwards, the women were sexually assaulted by one or more of the defendants.”
FBI Assistant Director in Charge James Dennehy added, “We will not allow this type of questionable behavior to go unchecked. Predators who force their victims to perform sexual acts cannot and will not be tolerated.”
Oren and Tal Alexander are the founders. luxury real estate company officialIt has offices in Manhattan and Miami Beach, according to its website. Alon Alexander is Oren’s twin and worked for the family’s private security company, authorities said.
Williams said the brothers arranged domestic and international trips to commit their alleged crimes and recruited women by offering them travel, luxury accommodations and access to exclusive events. He said he met the alleged victims in person, through social media and dating apps.
“Sometimes the defendants hand-picked the women they invited,” Williams said. “At other times, they used paid party promoters to recruit women.”
Williams said the brothers and other men gave the women drugs including cocaine, mushrooms and GHB, which left some of the women physically unable to fight back or escape.
“The Alexander brothers then acted sometimes alone, sometimes with each other, and sometimes with other men, forcibly raping and assaulting the women,” Williams said.
Williams added that the brothers carried out other attacks “accidentally” in bars, clubs and social events.
“These assaults reportedly share many of the same characteristics as rapes that occur at mass events,” Williams said. “Isolated locations, victims under the influence of drugs, forced and physical restraints, etc.”
He called the alleged crimes “heinous” and asked anyone with additional information to contact his office at 212-384-2700 or the FBI at 1-800-CALLFBI or email alexander-case@fbi.gov. I recommended sending it.
Meanwhile, officials in Miami Beach were scheduled to hold their own briefing on the multi-state investigation. Williams said the brothers will be transported to New York to face charges of prostitution and conspiracy to commit prostitution.
CBS News New York has reached out to attorneys for each brother and has so far heard back from Tal Alexander’s attorney, but they say they have no comment at this time.
