Luke Altmaier scored four touchdowns, including a short pass to Pat Bryant in overtime, leading No. 24 Illinois to a 31-24 win over No. 22 Nebraska on Friday night.

The Illini (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) won two ranked opponents in the same season for the first time since 2007 and started 4-0 for the first time since 2011. The Illini beat the Cornhuskers three straight times in Lincoln and broke the 400th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium.
Nebraska (3-1, 0-1) has lost 25 straight games to top-25 teams dating back to 2016 and is 8-31 in one-point games since 2018.
Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola completed 23 of 35 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.
The teams traded touchdowns in the second half before the Illini ran 75 yards on nine plays to tie the game at 24-24. Altmaier tackled Brandon Henderson on fourth-and-2 and threw for 6 yards for a touchdown with 10:36 left in regulation. It was the first reception of his career for the 6-foot-5, 335-pound Henderson.
Nebraska missed a field goal on its final two punts in regulation time, and backup John Hall, who replaced the injured Tristan Albano, kicked the ball wide left from 39 yards out with 2:59 left.
Illinois fumbled and punted, and Dylan Raiola took a knee to send the game into overtime.
Illinois’ Caden Feagin ran 21 yards on the first play of overtime, and Altmaier found Bryant for a 4-yard touchdown to make it 31-24.
Nebraska’s offense was a disaster, ending the game when Raiola was sacked three times in four chances.
