Argentina will be without powerful forward Marcos Kremer when they battle the Springboks for the Rugby Championship title on Saturday.
Kremer limped off in the second half of Argentina’s 29-28 win over the Springboks in Santiago del Estero, meaning the final round clash with the world champions in Nelspruit will be the deciding game for the Rugby Championship title.
The 27-year-old force was replaced midway through the match by hooker Ignacio Ruiz, with Argentina already having a loose attacker as a substitute.
Philippe Contepomi did not include Kremer in the 28-man squad that travelled to South Africa with the Springboks.
Juan Martin Gonzalez, Pablo Matera, Santiago Grondona and Joaquin Oviedo are some of the loose attackers Contepomi could choose from against the Boks.
Meanwhile, the Springboks reported no health issues on Monday, with six players – Bongi Mbonambi, Frans Malerbe, Peter-Stephen Du Toit, Damien de Allende, Shaslin Kolbe and Willy Le Roux – returning to the squad after being rested for the trip to Argentina.
