Liverpool will need to be well-stocked with their current centre-back options ahead of their match against Brentford.
Unfortunately, Jarell Quansah is questionable with an injury heading into their meeting with Thomas Frank’s men. Echos Paul Gost reported on X (formerly Twitter) that the Brit did not attend the recent training at the AXA Centre.
Jarell Quansah is not involved #liberty Training at the AXA Centre. The defender was a doubt for Sunday’s injury, Arne Slot confirmed this morning. “He was injured on Tuesday and couldn’t train on Wednesday. Let’s see today.”

Who will Liverpool use in central defence?
Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez remain our centre-half options before we have to dig into our academy options. Of course, Nat Phillips is still in the squad, but having to rely on a fifth choice or an unproven young star is not promising at all.
We understand the club potentially need to create more space in their squad (even after Sepp van den Berg left for Brentford), but we would argue that Konate and Gomez’s injury records warrant some flexibility here.
It’s probably just a minor mistake, not a nail-biting injury, but it seems like Liverpool are taking a risk we’d rather avoid if possible.
