Liverpool’s head of fitness and conditioning Andreas Kornmayer is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
This is Anfield It is understood the 49-year-old will follow Jurgen Klopp through the Anfield exit this summer, eight years after arriving ahead of his compatriot’s first full campaign.
Kornmayer joins a long list of backroom staff to leave in May, with Peter Krawietz, Pepijn Lijnders, Vitor Matos and John Achterberg all publicly confirming their departures.
Head of recovery and performance Andreas Schlumberger, who joined the Reds in 2020, is also expected to leave.
This forces manager Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes to make some important behind-the-scenes appointments ahead of the new season.
Slot will bring with him his assistant Sipke Hulsoff, performance director Ruben Peeters and technical advisor Etienne Reijnen from Feyenoord this summer.
However, it is not yet known whether he will bring in more staff from the Dutch club before his first pre-season begins.
Feyenoord have a strong reputation for injury prevention despite their intense approach under Slot and his expertise is likely to appeal to the Anfield chiefs ahead of the defeat of both Kornmayer and Schlumberger.
