Vice President Harris and former President Trump addressed voters at nearly simultaneous events Tuesday evening, a week before Election Day.
Harris made her final arguments in Washington, D.C., while Trump rallied crowds in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania.
Harris spoke for just over 30 minutes Tuesday evening at the Ellipse, the same location where Trump addressed supporters and encouraged them to march to the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
Trump took the stage shortly after Rep. Harris began speaking at a rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania, which has a large Latino population.
President Trump arrived to cheers from the crowd as the vice president told supporters, “It’s time for a new generation of leadership in America.”
Around noon on Tuesday, Trump spoke from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. His campaign faced backlash for a second day and his team sought to distance the Republican presidential candidate from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s Puerto Rico comments on Sunday.
