Wildfires are burning across Los Angeles, turning the skies red, destroying homes and businesses, and blanketing the area with smoke and debris. The largest fire was in Pacific Palisades, where it had grown to more than 23,000 acres as of Monday morning and forced hundreds of thousands of people to evacuate.
Two other large fires swept through Los Angeles County. The approximately 14,000-acre Eaton Fire in Altadena and the 799-acre Hearst Fire north of San Fernando. Several smaller fires also broke out across Southern California as powerful winds continued to sweep through the region. At least 24 people have died.
