In a recent interview voice of the northLille striker Jonathan David (24) has hinted at the possibility of remaining at the French club after his current contract expires at the end of this season.
David’s deal includes a clause allowing him to begin pre-contract negotiations with another club from January 1, 2025. The Canada international has been the subject of considerable transfer speculation in recent years, but a move has yet to materialize.
With his contract set to expire, David admitted talks over a renewal are ongoing between his representatives and Lille.
“As the President (Olivier Letang) said, dialogue is taking place. We’re still talking and the door never closes. It’s 50/50,” the striker said.
Létang previously revealed that David would remain at the club in the January transfer window, along with other key players from Lille. However, the player’s future after this season is still uncertain.
