Wilson spoke with ET shortly before taking the stage at Nissan Stadium on Saturday evening, and the country singer explained his thought process for his performance.
“I’m going to channel my inner 14-year-old kid who was sitting in every corner of this stadium taking notes,” Wilson said. “I’m going to think about the kids out there, looking at me and observing and showing them what I’ve learned.”

“Keith gave me the best advice,” Wilson explained. “One day, I was just coming out of the street because I was so tired. I met this guy on Music Row and he said, ‘Remember Laney, don’t whine on the yacht.’”
“I wrote it down,” Wilson said. “I said, ‘I love that!’ It’s true, you know? At the end of the day, we might be tired and jump in the mud, but we can get up and do what we love every day.”
