Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has faced significant criticism and embarrassment after holding a press conference discussing the wildfires currently sweeping her city.
Bass, who is in his first term as mayor, was initially criticized by critics for using a military aircraft to travel to Ghana and return after being away during the crisis.
But the wheels fell off at the press conference. A woman who was once mentioned as Joe Biden’s vice presidential candidate has been revealed as an incompetent fraudster.
Bass had trouble reading prepared scripts, mispronounced words like “heroism,” and awkwardly handled providing website links by spelling out the letters “URL” instead of providing the actual web address.
“If you need help right now, emergency information, resources and shelter are available. “All of this can be found at the URL,” he confidently declared.

She is partly directly responsible for the tragedy that has befallen the city. Last year, Bass cut the fire department budget and prioritized supporting the city’s homeless.
The 2023 homelessness budget exceeds $1.3 billion. LAFD’s budget has been reduced by more than $17 million.
Prior to this disastrous press conference, Bass chose what ultimately proved to be a better tactic. That means refusing to answer reporters’ questions about her absence and the city’s lack of preparedness when the disaster first began.

Old tweets reappear
On top of all this, Karen Bass felt humiliated when old posts from X resurfaced, showing her criticizing Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) for not being in town during the crisis.
“Ted Cruz fleeing Texas in the midst of a deadly crisis is part of a larger pattern of Republicans abandoning people in crisis,” Bass wrote at the time.
“We need to build a movement to kick them all out.”
Cruz, who was on vacation in Cancun with his daughters when the major ice storm hit, was not a state or local official at the time. The optics weren’t great, but they didn’t have a direct role in responding to the situation.
Karen Bass is the mayor of Los Angeles. No one is more directly responsible for helping the community during this tragedy.
Her resignation letter should already be signed, sealed and delivered.
