Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, July 28. According to the trend report, Kyrgyzstan significantly increased its imports of petroleum products from Belarus in the first five months of 2024.
According to data from the State Statistics Committee, Kyrgyzstan imported 1,592 tons of petroleum products from Belarus during this period, which is 52% more than the 1,044 tons imported from January to May 2023. The value of these imports increased by 1% year-on-year, from $1.521 million to $1.55 million.
Belarus has been one of the main suppliers of petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year. During the reporting period, Russia was the largest supplier of petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan with 270,948 tonnes, followed by Kazakhstan with 42,953 tonnes and Uzbekistan with 2,565 tonnes.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 322,175 tonnes of petroleum products from January to May 2024, with a total value of $371,467,000. This volume is an 84% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (174,760 tonnes) and almost three times the $133,892,000 from January to May 2023.
Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover in the first five months of 2024 amounted to $6.488 billion, an increase of 18.6% compared to January-May 2023.
Exports rose 4.8% year-on-year to $1.046 billion, while imports rose 21.7% year-on-year to $5.442 billion.
