British actress Kristin Scott Thomas married Bloomberg News editor-in-chief Johh Micklethwait.
The ‘Slow Horses’ star confirmed her nuptials on the ‘Ruthie’s Table 4’ podcast on Tuesday after host Ruth Rogers mentioned the wedding in the episode introduction.
“Kristin married her editor and friend of mine, John Micklethwait, just a few weeks ago, and we are enjoying our love and joy,” Rogers said. The Independent previously reported that the two, who had been dating for about five years, secretly married last September.
A representative for Scott Thomas did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Times on Wednesday.
Scott Thomas added that he “craved stability” rather than travel the world, sleeping in the same bed for more than two weeks at a time. Her television work allowed for it.
“So much happened in those four years,” Scott Thomas said of his time on the AppleTV+ thriller series. “People died, people were born, people divorced, people got married. And this year we had two weddings. We celebrated Jack (Lowden)’s wedding (to Saoirse Ronan) and mine.”
The Oscar-nominated star of ‘The English Patient’ said she got married in Rutland, England, where Micklethwait and his family live. Discussing the wedding menu on a food podcast, the Cornish co-star said she had coronation chicken, a cold chicken salad made famous by the luncheon during Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953. As a wedding gift, her sister collected and edited her mother and father’s recipes into a book.
The “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “Gosford Park” star was previously married to gynecologist François Olivennes from 1987 to 2005. The former couple had three adult children.
