Kolkata Knight Riders will look to bring home their third IPL title against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2024 final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.
While KKR secured the final spot by winning the first qualifier, SRH defeated Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier to advance to the final match of the 2024 season.
Here’s what happened when the two sides met earlier in the season.
KKR vs SRH – March 23 (League Stage)
The first time the two teams met was in a game held at Eden Garden early in the league.
KKR emerged victorious in the high-scoring thriller starring star all-rounder Andre Russell.

The home team was floundering at 119/6 in the 14th over after being asked to bat. However, Russell along with Rinku Singh and Ramandeep Singh took KKR over 200 runs with some breathtaking power batting.
SRH’s chase did not begin until Heinrich Klaasen decided to up the ante late in the game. Needing 39 runs from the last two overs, Klaasen beat Mitchell Starc for 26 runs.
However, KKR pacer Harshit Rana defended 13 runs in the last over to give his team a huge win, which set the ball rolling for a dominant season.
KKR vs SRH – May 21 (Qualifier 1)
KKR were again the winning side when the two sides met in the first qualifier of the tournament, this time at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
KKR’s win this time was a much more comfortable one. Shreyas Iyer’s men returned home with an eight-wicket win with 38 balls remaining.

KKR’s victory was built on a tremendous bowling performance led by left-arm quick Starc, who demolished the SRH batting order with 3/34.
SRH scored 159 runs in the first innings but KKR easily chased down thanks to 50 runs from Shreyas and Venkatesh Iyer.
