Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), a vocal critic of former President Trump, attempted to deliver a pep talk Wednesday after Trump won the White House race.
“Everyone keep your heads down,” Kinzinger wrote in a post on social platform X. “This is not permanent and there will be a huge backlash after America gets a taste of what they voted for.”
“There will be a lot of time to go. “I am still in the trenches with you,” he added. “I think it will take a little more time.”

Kinzinger was one of 10 Republican lawmakers to vote to impeach Trump following the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. He also later served on the House panel investigating the insurrection before leaving Congress last year.
Illinois Republicans, along with former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), supported Harris’ presidential bid.
President Trump told his supporters Wednesday morning that the United States has granted him and his party “powerful, unprecedented powers.”
“This will truly be America’s Golden Age. “That’s what we need to have,” he said. “This is a spectacular victory for the American people that can make America great again.”
