I’m using an iPad Pro with Face ID, an Apple external keyboard, and a Logi mouse.
When I use Firefox or Safari, whenever I enter a text input field (like when I edit this question or use Whatsapp), the browser switches to “search text within page” mode, allowing me to search up or down. It’s quite annoying, because the bar that does that often covers where I’m trying to write.
How can we stop this from happening?
When I searched for Firefox on this issue, turning off the automatic “search as you type” mode was suggested as a solution, but Firefox on iPad doesn’t seem to have an “about:preferences” page.
Is there anything I can do?

To be more specific about what happens:
In Firefox it looks like this:
The arrows on the bottom bar move between text fields. The arrows on the top bar don’t seem to do anything useful, they just take focus away. When you click “Done”, the text fields disappear.
