2024 has been an interesting year for Kartik Aaryan. The actor had two big releases last year – Chandu Champion and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. While the former received good reviews, the latter was a huge hit at the box office. BB3 is the second film in Kartik’s horror-comedy franchise, with Kartik reprising his role as Rooh Baba. Directed by Anees Bazmee, it also stars Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released in theaters on November 1, 2024, followed by a release on Netflix on December 27. In its debut week, Kartik Aaryan’s horror comedy garnered 3.7 million viewers and 9.8 million hours watched. Thanks to this enthusiastic response, the 2024 super hit movie ranked second in Netflix’s top 10 non-English language movies worldwide.
Also in this entertainment news, BB3 has broken the records of several movies getting good views in their debut week compared to other movies released on Netflix in 2024. In the Hindi film category, it ranked 6th in its first week of release. Kartik’s film surpassed the previous records set by Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s Shaitaan (3.2 million) and Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video (3.3 million).
Of course, first place went to Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (6.2 million) in its debut week. The film was one of the most discussed films of 2024 on almost all social media platforms. Following this, Fighter (5.9 million people), Crew (5.4 million people), Dunkey (4.9 million people), Kelkelmine (4 million people), and BB3 ranked 6th. However, the response to Kartik Aaryan’s film after its OTT release on social media is not entirely positive.
