England captain Jos Buttler displayed his thrilling display of power by smashing a massive 104-metre six that shattered solar panels on the roof during the 2024 T20 World Cup Super 8 match against the United States in Bridgetown, Barbados. Buttler’s mammoth hit came in three innings while chasing a modest target of 116.
Saurabh Netravalkar, one of the country’s standout bowlers in the tournament, was under Buttler’s attack. The England skipper’s aggressive approach was evident when he dispatched Netravalkar’s delivery out of the park, setting a record against one of the biggest six teams of the tournament. Not stopping there, Buttler hit another six in the very next delivery to show England’s dominance and intent to close out the match.
Buttler’s form throughout the tournament was exceptional and his performance against the United States was no different. The England captain continued his rampage, hitting five consecutive sixes, leaving the American bowlers and fielders helpless.
England’s comfortable chase was highlighted by Buttler’s spark to seal a comprehensive win and maintain their strong position in the Super 8 stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
