UFC commentator and popular podcast host Joe Rogan has labeled Nick Diaz as one of the best fighters to compete in MMA.
Joe Rogan labels Nick Diaz as one of the best fighters.
Nick Diaz has been rumored to return to the UFC for several years, but he hasn’t set foot in the UFC Octagon since September 2021.
The UFC icon was the welterweight champion in Strikeforce and had 11 victories.
Joe Rogan, who was a huge fan of Nate Diaz’s older brother, spoke about the attributes that make the fighter one of the best MMA fighters in the world.
Throughout his career, Diaz has used his relentless cardio, along with his world-class boxing, to nullify opponents and suffocate them in the octagon.
Diaz is also known for his trash talking during fights, including a memorable display against Anderson Silva.
Rogan spoke about Nick Diaz’s career and believes the Stockton star changed the game in terms of his cardio and approach to fighting.
Rogan said: “Nick Diaz changed the game in terms of elite cardio. He’s got a new job, and the new job isn’t going to hit you at 100% power. He will hit you with 50%.
“But he hits you twice and you’ll never breathe. He will stay on top of you, and he will talk to you all the time.
S“O, he will be with you psychologically. He will constantly hit you, hindering your breathing. Once he realizes you’re hurt, he’s digging in and putting it in you.
“Aside from that, Black Belt jiu-jitsu skills, really good wrestling takedown defense, an iron chin, and an unstoppable will. Likewise, the will to win you over was unstoppable.
“When Nick was ranked number one in Strikeforce, I think he was one of the best fighters to ever do it.”
We probably won’t see Nick Diaz fight in the UFC again, especially after his fight with Vicente Luque at UFC 310 in December 2024 was canceled due to reported travel issues.
