Jinger Duggar aims to inspire.
And we’re aiming to keep a straight face just like she does.
Duggar, a former reality star, is set to release a follow-up to last year’s memoir, Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear, which explored her complicated childhood and relationship with her parents, according to Amazon.
Prior to this book, Jinger and her husband Jinger wrote The Hope We Hold: Finding Peace in the Promises of God.
How can a book like that be the best?
On January 14th, Jinger will release People Pleaser: Breaking Free from the Burden of the Imaginary Expectations, described as a self-help book of sorts, on Amazon.
“Are you a people pleaser? Can you measure how the approval of others has shaped your heart and mind? What is your relationship with your beliefs? “What about your habits and identity?” Read the synopsis on Amazon.
“In People Pleaser, New York Times bestselling author Jinger Vuolo shares her personal journey of constantly seeking approval from others and how she discovered her true identity.”
News of this release comes not long after we learned that Jinger was selling her home in Los Angeles.
Maybe I’ll go back to Arkansas, but maybe I’ll buy a bigger place with the advance on this book.
This continues with the Amazon synopsis of the memoir.
From childhood to early adulthood, Jinger Duggar Vuolo followed other people’s expectations and never took the time to figure out who she truly was. Ever since she asked herself, “Who am I?” She realized that she was a people pleaser.
This realization led her on a journey of self-discovery, ultimately turning to God for her approval and sense of self-worth.
Jinger told Amazon that she hopes the book “will inspire others to embark on a similar journey toward freedom,” noting how Duggar distanced herself at least somewhat from her evil parents.
She was very critical, at least of the church in which she was raised.
The Amazon overview concludes:
Through faith and reliance on God, Jinger begins to break free from the need for approval and discover true freedom. This book is a guide for anyone who struggles with the tendency to please others and wants to discover their true identity and purpose in life. Learn how to:
- Discover the beauty of community and how we are created to enjoy others.
- Identify what sin is and how it can hinder our ability to be in community with one another.
- Be brutally honest, but don’t judge, and diagnose yourself.
- Understand who you are in the eyes of God.
