Jimmy Kimmel says President-elect Donald Trump is “partying his way through the inaugural ball” as Washington prepares to return next week.
However, President Trump was very dissatisfied with the American flag being flown at half-staff in honor of former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away last month at the age of 100.
They were supposed to remain half-staff on Inauguration Day as part of the traditional 30-day mourning period, but President Trump made it clear he wasn’t happy about that.
“President Trump was so angry about this that Speaker Mike Johnson ordered all American flags to be flown at half-staff at the Capitol on Inauguration Day,” Kimmel said. “This may be the most Donald Trump-like thing Donald Trump has ever done: get upset that a guy who just died is getting all the attention.”
He said there was another reason to raise the flag on this day.
“They’re worried that if their status is too low, they’ll sexually harass them again,” Kimmel said, showing the president-elect groping a flag at the event.
