President Joe Biden drew praise from his wife Thursday after attending the first presidential debate despite widespread criticism.
First lady Jill Biden walked onstage with the live audience at the debate after-party to greet her husband, seemingly celebrating the simple fact that the president was answering questions from the moderators.
“Joe, you did an amazing job! You answered all the questions and had all the facts!” Jill Biden cheered on a smiling Joe Biden on stage.
JILL BIDEN says her husband was ‘one of the most effective presidents’ in modern history ‘because of his age’.
“And let me ask the crowd, ‘What did Trump do?’” the first lady continued, before turning to the audience, gesturing and yelling, “Lies!”
Since the debate, the footage has gone viral, with many articles reporting that Jill Biden’s way of speaking is like praising a child.
Biden’s performance in the debate was almost universally panned by commentators for his unclear rhetoric and shaky demeanor.

Repeated stutters, long pauses and facial expressions of extreme confusion have convinced some of Biden’s biggest cheerleaders that the president should step down from his reelection campaign.
New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, a longtime Biden ally, wrote that the debate “made me cry” and made Biden realize he had to step down.
“I can’t remember a more heartbreaking moment in American presidential politics in my life,” he wrote, “because it was revealed that Joe Biden, a good man and a good president, has no intention of running for re-election.”

CNN commentator Van Jones; A man who cried with joy When Biden won the 2020 presidential election, there was an emotional appeal for the president to resign.
“I love the guy as a good guy. He loves his country. He’s doing his best. But he had a test tonight to restore trust in the country and the base, and he failed to do that,” Jones said. “And I think a lot of people would like to see him take a different path right now.”
