On Friday, Fox News’ Jesse Watters rejoiced at President-elect Donald Trump’s plan for mass deportations, one of his key campaign promises.
“The Five” host claimed the federal government would “defeat” the states on the issue and predicted a “massive conflict” under the plan, which President Trump promised would be “the largest deportation effort in American history.”
“Sometimes you have to do the hard work because you have a camera and you capture images of ICE so they can take these people and they deserve to be taken,” Watters said.
“But AOC will tie herself to immigrants. It may be hysterical, but sometimes dads have to do the hard work. “It doesn’t always make it look good, but it’s the right thing to do and it’s what we expect.”
Under the president-elect’s plan, the military and law enforcement would round up millions of people, send them to camps and expel them from the country.
Waters’ comments came after the president-elect told NBC News on Thursday that his commitment to mass deportations “is not a matter of the price tag.”
“No, actually we have no choice,” he said.
“People have died and been murdered, drug lords have destroyed the country, and now they are going back there because they are not here to stay. “There is no price tag.”
In recent days, several Democratic governors have responded to Trump’s election by bracing for a potential challenge to their progressive policies.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom has urged lawmakers to call a special session in the hope that state laws and policies related to climate change, immigration and reproductive rights will be “Trump-proof.”
