I’m with you on this. I find it pointless and even harmful. Not only is it changing the game for the worse (removing content), but the person you’re trying to “remove” has already gained fame and money from the exposure, so what’s the point? Virtue signaling? You don’t get paid for every kill in the game.
If you do this, especially in a Hitman game, all you’ll do is kill him in the game. Why get rid of him?! Advertising your game by saying, “We’ve added more ways to kill these elusive targets” allows people to take their anger out on your game instead of on social media.
Also, what if he appeals and wins? Will they apologize and patch him back or what?
Another thing is that this is why an online-only future is terrible. They can do whatever they want with your copy of the game and you have no say in it. You also cannot back up your content to preserve it.
