Round 2 of Jasprit Bumrah vs Sam Konstas was once again a thrilling contest after the Australian debutant won the first round. Bumrah and Khawaja, who faced off against each other on Day 4 of the fourth Test in Melbourne, had fans glued to their TV sets in the early hours of Sunday morning. Konstas did not have to wait long to open his account, but it was Bumrah who won his individual battle. Konstas had no reply to Bumrah’s inswinger as the delivery broke through Bumrah’s defense and hit the middle stump.
Bumrah, usually a calm and collected performer, produced a fiery celebration after finding the gap between Konsta’s bat and pad. The Marquee India pacer appeared to taunt Konstas and mimicked his crowd-engaging behavior that he had done repeatedly in the first three days of the game.

Earlier, India were bowled out for 369 in their first innings, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 114 and Australia took a 105-run lead in the fourth Test. Reddy made 189 balls with 11 fours and one six, his last wicket being caught by Nathan Lyon’s Mitchell Starc in the fourth over of the day.
For Australia, Pat Cummins (89/3), Scott Boland (3/57) and Nathan Lyon (3/96) were the bowlers of choice.
