Jamie Carragher has had his say on the apparent feud between Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp following Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at West Ham this afternoon.
The Egyptian appeared to react violently to his manager’s message moments before he was introduced as a substitute at the London Stadium, and unsurprisingly the exchange dominated the post-match discussion.

The former Manchester United defender took to social media to give his side of the story about the incident, but he didn’t seem to think it meant any major rift between the pair.
Carragher Posted in: “The only reason the manager is unhappy in this situation is because it took so long for the player to be ready.”

What’s interesting is that while Klopp succinctly ignored the incident afterwards, Salah told reporters in the mixed area after the match: “If I say anything, there will be fire today”, which seemed to hint at something more serious going on in the match.
Carragher has been playing at the highest level for the past 20 years, so he is in a very good position to talk about the possibility that today’s touchline exchange at the London Stadium was nothing more than a temporary irritation.
We hope that’s true, and that it becomes a flash point for private conversations between players and managers over the next few days.
The last thing Liverpool need after such a disastrous run of results this month is for Klopp and Salah to be dropped, even if they are no longer at the club by the end of May.
