In 2024, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles went 14-3 in the regular season. That was first place in the NFC East and good enough to give Philadelphia a second seed in the playoffs. The Eagles finished the 2024 regular season with two straight wins. However, starting QB Jale Hurts will not be available for either of those contests.
He suffered a concussion in Week 16 against the Commanders and did not return to the game. Luckily, the Eagles already had the #2 seed locked up and didn’t need Hurts to start. Kenny Pickett started for the Eagles in Week 17, but left with a rib injury and was replaced by Tanner McKee. McKee rested most of his starters in Week 18 in Philadelphia. On Wednesday, Hurts returned to practice for the first time in nearly two weeks. The Eagles are at home to face the Green Bay Packers this Sunday.

After a brief two-game hiatus, the Eagles, with starting QB Jalen Hurts, are trending toward a playoff appearance. Hurts suffered a concussion in Week 16 against the Commanders. This caused the 26-year-old to miss Philadelphia’s final two regular season games. In 2024, Hurts’ passing numbers take a step back. That’s because the team had a 2,000-yard rusher in Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia’s offensive identity has completely changed with what Barkley has been able to do this season.
Hurts is a proven QB in the playoffs and we saw him take the Eagles to a Super Bowl run. It was a less explosive offense than the team they had in 2023. It’s essentially the same roster with the addition of Saquon Barkley at RB. If Hurts can play complementary football in the postseason, the Eagles have a great chance to make it to the Super Bowl again. Jalen Hurts is back after missing two games with a concussion and ready to play in the postseason. The Eagles face Jordan Love and the Packers at home this Sunday.
