Liverpool fans are expecting and bracing themselves for a busy final few days of the transfer window, and for good reason.
In Match of the Day 2, Danny Murphy shared his thoughts on the Anfield signing. “I find it strange that they got into this predicament. Virgil is 33/34, so it doesn’t make much sense.

“But it’s surprising Trent is letting this happen. Luckily he’s local and he loves Liverpool so it won’t be a problem.
“And Salah, we have to watch the Saudi prospect coming into view, but, yeah, it’s strange.”

With a centre-back on the move, a goalkeeper on the way and a defensive midfielder still in the hunt, signing Richard Hughes may not be top of mind just yet.
But the longer we let this situation go, the more likely it is that we will lose Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.
